More Than Just A Building

The Vibrant Heart of the Redditch Mission Area Churches

When you walk past one of our churches what do you? First and foremost it’s a vibrant place of worship, but beyond that you are looking at a bustling community hub. Across our twelve churches, nine sites offer dedicated church halls for hire, and remarkably, nine also open their main church sanctuaries for community use. This openness is a cornerstone of our mission, turning our physical spaces into “living rooms” for the people of Redditch.

A Diverse Community Tapestry

The sheer variety of activities taking place within our walls is a testament to the diverse needs of our town. On any given week, our halls are transformed into dance studios where local schools practice their routines, or sporting arenas for indoor bowls and table tennis.
Education and support are also at the forefront. We host English and Maths clubs to boost local students, alongside nurseries and toddler groups that provide vital early-years socialization. For those seeking health and wellbeing, you’ll find older people’s exercise classes, Slimming World groups, and various specialist support groups offering a lifeline of connection.
The arts and heritage are equally well-represented. From history clubs and the U3A to the rhythmic clicking of needles in our knitting and sewing circles, there is a space for every passion. We also remain a proud home for uniformed organizations like the Brownies and Brigades, fostering the next generation of local leaders.

Professional and Welcoming Lettings

While each church operates with its own unique character, the RMA is committed to professional and accessible hiring. Currently, there is a range of hire costs designed to be competitive and fair—with some churches already harmonizing their rates to ensure community affordability. Whether you need a space for a one-off celebration or a regular weekly booking, our sites are equipped to help.

Each church manages its own bookings, often advertising through parish magazines, dedicated websites, and local Facebook groups. It is important to note that while we are an “open door” mission, each site has its own specific policies regarding who can hire the space to ensure the activities align with the values and safety of our church communities.

Looking to the Future

Several of our churches are currently actively seeking new hirers. We recognise that our buildings are at their best when they are full of life, laughter, and local service. Lettings are a powerful tool for mission and sustainability, connecting us with thousands of residents every week. If your building feels quiet between Sundays, is it time to rethink its potential? How best can we support you to make the most of you hiring potential?
