Christ Church Matchborough

Who Are We?
Christ Church Matchborough (B98 0EP) is a community focused, welcoming and active community. We have a mixed
demographic of ages, among our regular worshippers are families with young children through to older people. We
are part of the Ipsley Benefice (www.ipsley.org). Matchborough itself is an urban estate with many households on
low incomes.
We are a worshipping and praying community committed to sharing the good news and love of Jesus.
Worship
We currently hold one Sunday worship service a week at 10:30 am, the services vary between Morning Worship,
Holy Communion and All-Age Worship. During each service, there are regularly 6-12 children who go out to Junior
Church, which is a time for age-related Bible teaching and activities.
Community Life
We have many regular activities open to all, including:
- Open Door, coffee and chat for the community
- Sparklers, for pre-school children and parents/carers
- FunDays on Sundays, fun, games, drinks, snacks and a chat
- The Wave Youth Group
- FunFest, an annual gift of fun and food to the local community
- Walking Football, an opportunity to get active
The Christ Church Community Project offers a lunch club and lunch club trips to the over 50’s
We have good relationships with the local schools and nursery, regularly welcoming them into church at Easter,
Harvest and Christmas.
Our Church Buildings
We have a modern and functional church building, built in the 1980’s. We also have a church hall next to the church,
which is used by a local nursery (Noah’s Ark), Brownies and our youth group. Both the church and the church hall
are available to hire.
